The athlete approaches the loaded dumbbell and the athlete’s task is to fix the dumbbell on a straight arm above the head (1 sec fixation), elbows and knees straight, feet parallel. After the referee’s signal, return the dumbbell to the starting position on a special dumbbell cushion. The athlete who holds the dumbbell the most times wins.
Lift with both hands from the shoulder. The first throw of the projectile that does not land on the special cushion results in a warning, the second results in the repetition not being counted. After fixing the projectile, it is forbidden to throw it behind the head; such an action results in the repetition not being counted.
The judge may move around the athlete to remain within the athlete’s field of vision. For the next lift, the athlete must lower the dumbbell below knee level, i.e., it is not necessary to place it on the floor. The athlete may lift the dumbbell to the shoulder with both hands, and from the shoulder with one hand.
