The athlete approaches the loaded barbell, grabs it with any grip, and straightens up to fully extend the torso and knee joints, bringing the shoulders back. He waits for the referee’s command: “Down!”, after which he returns to the starting position and performs the next repetition. The athlete who records the highest number of repetitions wins.
